Hi Everyone, I am new to creating strips but I have been lurking at strip creator for a while now. (sounds like a first time caller/long time listener plug)
I have a bunch of parody scripts for strips that I've been stockpiling from websites I've been involved in but the couple of times I tried to collaborate with an actual artist they dissapeared with no final product.
I decided to take the plunge with stripcreator to get all the pent up creativity out of me before something bad happens.
Of course I offer up the obligatory Lord of the Rings toon but I can't help it as it just begs to be parodied :)
My other strip is basically about my adventures in unemployment in both the US and the UK where I now live.
So with all the blather out of the way here are my two offerings.
At the end of the Second Age, the One Ring had fallen to Isildur King of Gondor. It would be a long age of shadow before a younng hobbit was brave enough to destroy it, or was it?...
Isildur you must throw the one ring into the fire and destroy it for all eternity! Do not be corrupted by it's dark power!
Um...ok
Uhhhhh...wait...what?
It's a bit hot in here, want to grab a Coke or something?

I like the first one, but suit's third panel dialog is way too long and runs over the joke. The second one is good, too, though as you said, LOtR just begs for it so is a bit obvious..
I find strips with the kangaroo are usually quite strained, as if the stripper likes the bizarre idea of a kanga with a gun, then tries to shoe-horn a gag into it.
