As you may or may not know, I am currently animating the first 3D StripCreator cartoon.

What I need from someone is a soundbite of you saying "RAAAR, TOBOR WILL CORNHOLE YOU NOW!".

I do not intend to use the soundbite as the voice of Tobor, as I feel cartoon versions of comics sometimes ruin what the reader imagines the character to sound like. Although I would like to have the soundbite in my intro and I would quite like a foreign (Non-Scottish) voice.

Feel free to say it in your own, angry voice. Or try and give me your best Tobor impersonation.

Nah, in my experience, Tobor will add the "now" if the cornholing occurs at the end of a conversation, as in: "Conversation over - I'm going to cornhole you now." Without the "now" is more of a sudden interjection.

That said, the now-less version [u]is[/u] the classic Tobor line.

There are probably better ones out there for robot voices (this one's trying for realism), but you might be able to to get some useful results out of this Bell Labs Text-to-Speech thing.

DEFINITELY "RAAAAAR! TOBOR WILL CORNHOLE YOU!" The addition of "now" sounds too cerebral imo.

In my mind's ear, I've always heard the "RAAAAAAR!" as Phil Hartman's Frankenstein roar. I'll try to dig up a soundclip for it.

As a side note, I'm not at all knowledgeable on how to make my voice sound more robotic. All I did is shift the pitch lower.

I'll try my hand (larynx?) at it tomorrow. The sound recording prog I use has a fun "mechanise" feature that gives a groovy dalek-ish tone.

I have a third that is somewhat along the lines of that second one I posted, but a little less loud.

I personally think that "tobor4" is the most fitting since it both sounds more robotic than "tobor1," but still has a hint of emotion that the one I mentioned above but didn't post seems to lack. "Tobor1," despite its less robotic sound, has a certain maelevolance to it that the others do not.

Eh, I had fun.

You are all forgetting history. Back in the day, Tobor was a great silent film actor. But when Talkies became popular, his career crashed and burned. Tobor has a voice that makes Mickey Mouse sound butch.

The smallest file size I can get the movie down to is 28meg, and the quality is utter, utter pish.

The proper version is over a hundred meg, a slightly crappier version is 64meg.

By the way, Drexle, it was your tobor4.wav file that I used.

Well, I just gave the presentation.

Standing up in front of everyone, including my lecturers and course co-ordinator and showing them a robot rape scene was nerve-racking. But they enjoyed it and are sending the cartoon down to the London head office, whoo!

Gabe has excellently let me use some webspace to host the movie, so, provided I'm not abducted by a gang of horny blonde women who want me to impregnate them with my man seed, it shall be available for download by tomorrow, around 8pm UK time.

No idea what file size I'll be looking at, but hopefully under 60 meg.

Ok, it's finished, completely 100% done, I'm never EVER looking at it again, ever!

I'm currently uploading it to Gabe's website, it's 54meg, if this proves to be too much of a problem for people then I could compress it some more next week, but it would reduce the quality by quite a hell of a fucking lot.

It's a .mov file and it DOES work cross-platform, I just tried it on the PCs so if there's an issue, it's nothing to do with me.

Anyway, when it's finished uploading, I'll post the link in the RMDC thread and then you can shower me with abuse, or praise.
