I've been workng on a school assignment all day involving putting together a sound clip and saving it as a .wav file once I'm done.  Well, after working painstakingly to put this thing together, I've now discovered that when I try to use that program to save a wave file, it saves it as some sort of strange SoundEdit16 quasi-wave that won't actually detect or play as a wave on a PC system (which I really need it to be able to do not only because I wanna be able to let my friends hear it, but because part of the assignment is to turn it in as an mp3, and I can't exactly do that if I can't make a *real* wave file first).  

Can you give a guy a hand here?  I'm frustrated as all hell.  I've worked too damn hard on this project to have to start over.  Hell, the teacher even told us to use sound edit 16 for this project.

I've never used Sound Edit 16, but if there are any additional options for the WAV "format" to use, specify PCM. There are other WAV formats with compression and other stupidity that have a hard time in certain players.

Get and install Cool Edit 2000.

I wanted my half in the middle and I wound up on the edge.

It's not my home computer. I was dealing with the school hardware, and downloading "unauthorized" programs is a big no-no.

That said, I figured out how to do it... it's a big fucking convoluted process, but I did it. Obviously, or I wouldn't have this to show for my efforts.
