well, time has told us that strips whose punchlines consist of the lack of a punchline aren't very funny. i've had a few of those transgressions myself. apart from that, these aren't too horrible. congratulations on getting away from the "i'm going to start writing comics" theme.

whatever you do, don't go over to the competition forum and start entering contests. rules only serve to dampen creativity. (i don't really mean this. i'm just getting sick of encouraging newbies to join in the comps).

Yeah, I read somewhere that writing about the comic you're writing about is bad mojo. =) And I never enter contests anyhow, because of the reasons you just wrote. =)
