I'm afraid this isn't the most original idea ever, probably because I wasn't expecting to win, but oh well. Anyway, the rules are as follows:

Books. I am a book dork and so have made them the topic. You can do one of two options:

1. Take a book and either a. make fun of it completely or b. retell the story but change the plot in some way, shape, form, or balloon. The more random the better.

2. Make fun of an author.

Try to use a book or author that is well-known. But if you have a really good idea and your source is a little obscure that's ok. Just try to put in the title or author somewhere in there.

Series are fine, old strips are fine, all's good. However, I'm going to ask that inside jokes not be used as I probably won't get them.

Oh yes, one more rule. All strips must mention a character named Mengigo somewhere in them. THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL. If you leave this out I will hunt you down and beat you with my ice pick. Don't think I won't.

Judging will be Monday around 6 PM EST as I won't be here Sunday. Have fun kiddies.

Wow, there were a lot of good comics submitted. So many so that before I get to the honorable mentions and the winner, I feel that some people deserve “So You’re Not Going To Win But You Still Get A Crappy Award Anyway” award for all the five minutes they put in. Yes.

The Most Obscure Book To Make A Comic Out Of Award goes to kaufman for “Kernighan & Plauger: The Elements of Programming Style.” Like you didn’t see that coming.
