Maybe this is a crazy and totally unimplementable idea that only I would find useful at all, but here goes anyway.

I have strips in my collection that I enjoy and want to keep, but that I don't necissarily feel like keeping on display for just anyone to see. Obviously I don't want to delete them, but a way to make them private or given priveledged viewing status would be nice. Is this workable? Is it even something you'd bother with or would be widely used?

An interesting idea.

You COULD screen caputure and save them, and then delete them from your account while keeping them on your personal hard drive.

Just a thought.

I had of course considered that... hey wait, I just remembered something! When you "delete" a comic on this site, it's not actually deleted just flagged as hidden until Brad goes through and actually gets rid of them. If I remember correctly, you can even see the flagged strips if you type the URL into your explorer bar, they just don't appear in the forums if you try to post them there.

Since the 'deleted' strips are already hidden, could we be allowed to access our own hidden strips and change the hidden status, or to at least be able to access the comicID# of the hidden strips so we could e-mail or link to the strips?

I think it blocks viewing them, but I can't quite remember.

That'd be fairly straightforward to do, but one day in a fit of database anxiety I'll probably clear out the deleted comics. The only thing that's keeping me from it now is the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule.

I could probably implement something to do this, but I'm not sure how much it would be used. I'll give it some thought and see if any quick and easy solutions come to mind.
