After being encouraged by a few people, I'm thinking about jamming Google AdSense ads into the site. They're pretty benign as far as ads go and various other webmasters have recommended them to me.

I don't want to cheese anybody off though. What do you think? If you check out Worth1000.com (ignore the popup ads, I'm not having those) you can see the ads near the top of the page. No flashing junk or boobs or anything.

Anyhow, the idea would be to try it for a month and see how it goes. It could just be a waste of time and screen real estate and not worth bothering, but I'm thinkin' about trying.

Google ads don't really get in the way much, I can't see them being too annoying.

Whatever keeps this site going, man. I'd be glad to see a few ads if it meant the site was going to stay open.

Perhaps you could have an ad-free version, like, a subscription. That way, you could generate even more bank. Just a thought.

Also, do you get money just for having the ads there, or do people have to click on them? I would be willing to click on ads just to generate cashflow for the site.

Which reminds me. I need to get some cash together and give another donation.

I'll still be making comics with or without the ads. Strip Creator is a great place to creatively vent and if placing a few ads on the site is going to keep it going, then by all means go for it, man.

That's generally how ads work now.

Sadly, it doesn't help for people to just see the ads. I wish it did. But the companies finally realized that they don't make cash by people just seeing banners. So they did the whole click-through thing. It works I guess.
Some companies actually require you to get pretty deep into the site before you can get the money to the site you came from.
