There is now a comic editor. The option's just for donors and it can be found beside the delete button underneath your comics. Please let me know if there are any problems.

Oh man, this is so sweet. I just edited a few of my older comics, taking out that KOFightClub guy and putting myself in there, and made an ULTRA MEGA SUPER SPECIAL EDITION of one of the Epic Quest strips. Basically, someone told me I spelled something wrong, and it turned out I was right all along.
Not that I have one, but out of curiosity... what would happen if someone wanted to edit and old Bongo comic? Would this throw an error when it tried to match the graphic with the option box? Or will it just immediatly replace him with another character?
The first use of the Kaufman forumusers character, about 3 months before the thing was actually drawn. (In the rare limited edition original, the explodingdog guy was used).
You're a stud, Brad. Now change the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

I just tried this on one of my Bongo comics. The preview showed Bongo, but the dropdown list showed asiangirl1. I was too afraid to save it, because I assume it would save with asiangirl.
Right now it should re-save bongo but not give you the option to add the character. As long as you don't change the character I think you should be fine.
And this should go without saying but I should mention that if people start figuring out ways to stick him in newer comics I'll be forced to start stripping it. Which will mean if you edit old bongo comics he'll disappear.
I'm going to have to be extra paranoid about logging out in public places now. Do you suppose we could have a session timeout feature to go along with this just in case? If that is a non-funtastical idea, why not have the site ask for your password every time you try to update a comic?
I have to admit that having the feature is a nice thing, though.
Probably wouldn't be too hard to ask for the login and password each time (ie. ignore the user's cookie). Though if the user was clever they could still probably get your password off the hard drive somewhere.
I should mention (for your peace of mind) that right now the editing feature saves all the older revisions of the comics into a backup database each time you make a change. I'll probably empty this every few months or so depending on how quickly it gets real big. So if for some reason you have your account broken into and somebody edits your comics, it'll be possible to restore them all for a good while after it's been done.
funny... all this time i was waiting for a comic edit feature, it was to fix the only typo i remember having perpetrated on SC. thanks, brad, for finally letting me fix that. there's a good chance i'll never use the feature again (:
I have to echo the thanks for the new editing function, Brad. It actually works quickly and correctly, making you look like quite the genius around the internet.
In fact, YOU should be running for President this year!
