I have discovered a depressing phenomenon - a lot of really good strip-writers only hung around for a little while, then buggered off, leaving us with only a sampling of what they were capable of... *sigh*

Here are a few that I thought were particularly good, but short-lived:

timxcampbell - 7th to 12th January, held the number one spot a few times...
felion - 15th January to 3rd February.
NewCode - A three day binge in January, then one in February, three in April, and two in August.
Adlopa - 13th to 15th January, plus a handful in April.
kronsteen - 15th to 18th January, plus a couple in February.
Controleuse - 11th January, a friend of mine who only made four strips.
onion2k - 15th to 30th January, I think his "confusion" series is hilarious.

That'll do for now. Please post your own "Why did they leave? WHY???" examples here.

It's the "Boom Baby!" series.

I liked the comics done by allenhenderson quite a bit. His strips were mostly series, and mostly dedications to his friends, and funny as hell. He did do about 90 comics, but only over a 2-week span. It's hard to give a sampling of his work, since it is mostly series comics, but here's one:

Obi, great find - allenhenderson is brilliant. I have rediscovered shittykitty as well. She says that it is all directly quoted from her friends, family, and acquaintances, or overheard in public places. Great stuff.

I don't have anything to add to the discussion, but I also miss all those people. And all the people who are on my favorites list but don't post anymore. And some extra people, just to be safe.

The only ones that spring to mind for me are BottleRockett, fishoutofbeer and Dr. Light...

There's also DH-01 and Ranma X, but I know they're just lazy bastards.

Onion2k and NewCode can be arsed back into action if anybody wants to log on to uberworld and pester them.

Kronsteen is, as I write this, working on his doctorate thesis in cell biology at Johns Hopkins University. Literally. He's editing chapter 28 of his doctorate dissertation at this very second. Maybe he can come back after he defends and gets his Ph.D.
