With but a few hours left in Halloween, I find it reprehensible that no one has yet started a thread to post pics of us in our costume finery. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure it's ever been done here (I would go back and look, but that would take, like, a long time).

Do it now!

(yes, I shaved my head just for this costume. I'm hardcore.)

I worked for the world's biggest Halloween costume manufacturer. Back in my fat days, they had me model five of their plus sized costumes for the packaging and catalog. My big ol' body and face was on every shelf in Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, Party City, and costume shop in the U.S.. You've seen me in costume already, you just didn't know it.

Yes, I have the pics. No, you can't see them.

Late costume ideas.

We went to the chainsaw clown house again this year. In North Seattle the guy does dry ice and chases kids with a chain saw while he's dressed like a butcher (blood spattered) and wearing a rubber nose and big shoes. My son is 8 now, and was expecting it, so he wasn't near as put out.

The alien Elvis yard was good too. He added undead Bush/Kerry figures. And the skeleton blood fountain was particularly well lit.

I was a cow this year. I like when people yanked my udder pretending to milk me.

My coworkers were doing superhero themed costumes (though everyone cheesed out, the bastards) and I still hadn't thought of anything by that morning, so I made myself a nametag that read "Mild-mannered temp Jessica Bragg. Not a superhero, no sir."

Then I made a fake news article about a new superhero in Metropolis named Supertemp, and taped it to the wall of my cubicle.

The article stated that supertemp was more efficient than a speeding bullet, more accurate than a room full of obsessive-compulsive English professors, and able to empty a phone queue in a single breath.

It went over pretty well.

At work we got to dress up on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In doing so, we got a $5 gift card. First they pay me to play with plants and shiny objects, and now they give me a bonus for wearing a costume. Fools.

Friday I went as a cat burglar. That's a cat who is a burglar. I borrowed a collar from one of my cats and a mousie from the other, which was attached to my glove so I could bat at it. Which I did. A lot.

Saturday I wore the same outfit minus the cat collar, ears, tail, and mousie and added a Spetsnaz patch and actually wore my work vest. This time I was a Soviet intelligence agent sent to infiltrate the heart of capitalism. Few people got it.

Yesterday I went as a Victorian-era vampire. Middle class, not upper class. I love the dresses, but refuse to wear them. Freaking nutcases.

Pictures of me in the cat outfit are on display at Wal-Mart for the costume contest. I might get around to taking pictures of the others if I really feel like struggling back into that corset.

I like Halloween, and always consider making a costume, but am too damn apathetic to.

Plus, with how lazy I am, I'd only want to go as someone I already look like, so there's as little effort as possible. Until recently, that only gave me one choice: Dan Hibiki from Street Fighter Alpha. I've got the right attitude to play him, too.

This year, there was another possibility that nearly had me dressing up: Usopp from One Piece. But I used the fact he hasn't appeared on the cartoon yet as my excuse to not do anything.

Man, I'm lazy.

Discriminating SCers demand it.

I wanted to go as Lynndie England, but my wife refused. So I just wore a glow-in-the-dark shirt that said "This Is My Costume." My wife was Rosie the Riveter.

It'll prolly be a while before the film gets developed (more than likely 2 months) and I'll be able to show my halloween costume. I dressed as a cat, like I do every year and waited patiently to give out candy to trick-or-treaters (who never ended up coming to the door).

I went one year as the Grim Reaper. People said, 'It's supposed to be a Halloween party, not come-as-you-are.'

So I went as a Christmas present this year.

Once upon a time, in the 80s, I go to a fannish costume to-do in my normal party clothes, which remain much the same to this day: black slacks, black T, and a sharp Italian double-breasted blazer. Some big, dumb Green Beret wannabee in a Batman getup (complete with fake muscley chest) comes up to me and says kinda hostile-like: "You're not in costume. This is a costume party."

So I says, "it is too a costume. I'm SUPER-WOP!"

Tough Batman guy frowns. "I'm Italian," says he, sort of squaring up to me.

"So am I," I lie.

He says menacingly, "Really? You don't look Italian."

"My family is from Sicily, so we're fair-haired," I lie, with absolutely no idea if this claim bears any relation to any fact on this planet.

"Oh. That's OK, then," he says, and turns to go.

"Just kidding," I says. "I just thought 'Super Wop' was a funny thing to say." Then I laugh in his face.

Batman fumes at me a minute then walks off, I dunno, to go beat up The Penguin or something.

Not that anyone would like to see a large 22 year old woman dressed up as a cat, but I will be posting that pic when it gets developed. ^-^ That should be well after Christmas unless Mom gets into a picture-taking frenzy sometime before then. (We don't take many pictures anymore, so its usually months before rolls of film are developed unless there's a natural disaster, birthday, or both in the case of some of my siblings...)

Behold! Ivy and boorite fresh from a Halloween party!

I am a victim from my favorite/most hated movie, The Day After Tomorrow. Either that or a resident of Wyoming 6 months out of the year. You decide. By this time, half the fake ice on my face had peeled off, hence the lack of stuff around my mouth. I did spray my pants with fake snow. That was a barrel of laughs. Especially for the furniture. And my car seat.

You have to guess what boorite is. Those sparkles are actually the manifestation of his 1337 guitar skillz.
