Donors should see comic voting menus underneath comics in the forums now. When you vote, the vote should be registered in the background. This should work in IE and Firefox, no guarantees about Safari or Opera.

Rawk!

Also: it works in IE5 for Mac OSX, a plus I'm sure.

This feature is very excellent indeed. Thanks, Brad.

The first time I tried to use it, I got some kind of JavaScript error. Something about line 53 I think. I haven't gotten it since.

When I open a thread that has a comic I've rated "good" already, the entire "good ]" part is red. I assume the bracket shouldn't be included.

I could have been still messing around with it, hard to say. Let me know if it happens again. Also, which browser are you using?

That's interesting, doesn't happen here in Firefox. I'll have a look around and see if I can duplicate this.

Ah, I see the problem in IE. I'll try and fix that.

IE seems to misbehave a bunch (like at some points after lots of reloading and clicking it just stops registering votes), but I can't get it to generate any Javascript errors for me. Weird.

Fixed now. Looks like IE isn't as forgiving of my code dyslexia. If you notice any other problems, let me know.

Looks okay to me now, but I'll let you know if that JavaScript error pops up again. IE 6, by the way. Meant to mention that.

Cool. Seems to be working pretty well in IE 6 here. It was breaking a lot when you reloaded a page with votes on it as I wasn't closing a tag properly.

I'll probably add this style of voting to the comics pages if this one holds up. Not having to do a page reload is pretty nice.

Fantastic feature and now it's here I don't know how we ever lived without it! Working great so far in Opera 8. Nice job Brad =)

I did notice I can rate my own strips. Are these ratings counted?

Got it again this morning. Line 53, "Unspecified error". Maybe it only happens the first time I try to rate a comic after starting my browser; I don't know. IE6, Win2k.

They're not. I added some code to hide the comic rating menu on your own strips, though.

Bizarre. I'm not getting any errors in my IE here. Anyone else having any problems?

Okay, I may have been a little premature in my claim that IE5 for Mac OSX worked.

There aren't any glaringly obvious problems which there usually are, so I assumed everything was okay. However, when I click to rate a comic nothing happens, I assumed that this was because it was working in the background, but really nothing happens. When I click on the comic title to go to the user's homepage the comic is still unrated.

I tried Firefox and everything seems to be a whole bag of awesome, no problems there at all.

Well, IE5 for the Mac may have to just grow up. I'd quite like to switch to the forum style ratings under comics on the rest of the site. I'm weighing whether it really matters if it works in IE5 for the Mac. Also I'm breaking up with you.

The fact that people can rate comics without it taking any effort makes it a lot easier to get them rated. This rocks.

It seems I am the only person who owns IE5 for Mac and the only time I use it is to test your programming and annoy you. So apart from taking away the little fun I have in my life there doesn't seem to be much of a downside. IE5 is the default browser for OSX so you probably will be alienating some people, although I'm pretty sure that most Mac users are too awesome to spend any time on the internet, they're probably all out getting it on with their hot significant others and spending money on sexy, all-white accesories.

It would be awesome if the new voting system would go site-wide. It's better than the old stinky reload page type dealie.

Don't forget that their computers *never ever crash*. Except when they try to install software that isn't made by Apple. But who's counting?

I've had my Mac for over 2 years and it's only ever crashed once.

When I was chatting to MikeyG.

I think that says it all.

You Scots seem very fond of MikeyG. It's heartwarming.

I thought Safari was the default browser for osX

IE for Mac tends to be pretty crappy, gee I wonder why that could be?

Microsoft stopped development on IE for Mac over two years ago and Apple does not include it by default anymore. IE is dead. Do not use it.
