Kitty_Kat can't make comics?

Damn!

*chuckle*

Now, if only we could get her forum usage disabled, all would be right with the world...

I should slap you with a glove and challenge you to a duel for talking about my future wife like that.

so what if it's just Crabby in a dress? "she" still drives me wild!

I don't think "she" is Crabby - I suspect "she" is one of the many trolls/wankers (they are hard to tell apart) who have popped up on the forums, announced their glorious presence, and been extremely disappointed to read the unappreciative responses.

"She" seems to cop a lot less flaming than an obviously male poster who posts the same quantity and quality of crap, so the plan seems to have worked. Personally, I think he is so obviously male I just can't understand how anyone could be fooled.

If it's hanging, hit the Stop button on your browser, and things should come up properly. At least they did under this version of IE5.

As for the hang, Brad, I think it's trying to load something called none.gif and failing to reach the end of it.

yeah, none.gif is the problem, hitting stop seems to work.

Acutally I can make comics, just without characters, so it seems, read my last two comics if you want, I can write and save it like normal, just buggered if I want to use characters or backgrounds.

I'm having that loading issue that everyone else is, but when I click the stop button things seem to go back to normal then IE crashes about a minute later.

I'm on IE 5.0 w/ W2000.

I'll try the laptop later. That's running XP and IE6.

Olive oil falls in with Arts. Jell-O is more of a craft.

Hit "stop" Scorpio, assuming you're using Internet Explorer, and it should work.

I have no knowledge of Netscape having never used it, but, as far as I know, if that's what you're using, it wont work.

I'm using W2000 and IE 5.5 and don't have a problem making comics (making funny ones is another matter). I do have SP2 installed. I don't know if that matters. Maybe messing around with some settings (security, caching, etc.) would help. If not, at least it will keep you busy for a few minutes while I sneak into your kitchen and steal your waffle iron...

Gabe, try and find me on ICQ sometime while you're at your Win2k & IE 5.5 machine. I'd like to try testing some things.

I'm still having this problem. Is anyone else still? IE goes 'splody in the middle of me making a comic, but other people seem to be making them. I'm using IE 5.0 on Win98. Maybe it's that particular combination.....

Win 98, IE 5.0.

Sometimes it hangs when I click on a new graphic (like some of Tobor's poses), so I just put the URL of that graphic into IE and it loads fine. Then when I come back to making a comic that graphic loads up alright from then on. Sacrificing a chicken and sprinkling the blood around the room seems to help as well.

I use Microsoft Voodoo 5.08 for that. It also has the nifty added feature of causing intense pain to Steve Jobs with a simple click of the mouse. The only downside to it is that it once crashed and caused the dead to rise from the grave and go on a brain-eating spree. Microsoft says they have a patch for that now, though.

This poses a serious problem. I cannot make comics. It now happens every single time I try to load the page. I cleared my cache, and it's still doing it. Now it's getting stuck on "nothing.gif", but the same crap happens.

Win 98, IE 5

The "make a comic" page tries to load "nothing.gif" so I hit STOP, then it loads the 2 asian girls and tries to load:

so I select any background, hit "clone panel" and I'm free to make comics like I used to.

in the forums, if someone has made a comic without fixing the background and posts it, it sits and tries to load ".jpg" and I have to hit stop again.

That was my first thought, but I checked the old server and it did the exact same thing. Once I can get someone who's having this problem to test it for me, I'll try changing that around and see if it fixes the problem.

Right now I'm in the middle of holiday anxiety. I'll try to see about dealing with it on the weekend.
