Ready or Not?

Regular readers of this strip (hi mom!) may have noticed I am against the war in Iraq.


	Really?


	I did not know that.

But I'm sick and tired of hearing these whiny babies in the Reserves and National Guard crying because they've been called up or have had their tours extended.


	All's I wanted was to get away from the ball and chain one weekend a month and two weeks a year.


	All's the more I wanted was my college tuition paid. And to play Army.

They've been perfectly happy picking my pockets for the last two or six decades. There hasn't been a major mobilization like this since the last Bush-Saddam series, and before that, WWII.


	I reserve my highest contempt for the so-called "Ready Reserves", discharged veterans paid BILLIONS to do NOTHING except be ready when their country called. Now it calls and gets voice mail.


	I don't even fit into my uniform no more. URRRRRRP!
