Grant, realizing what a mess it made of his life, went back in time to stop himself from attempting suicide.
Initially he is successful, but Future-Grant disintegrates because he has removed his reason for travelling backwards in time and creating a paradox.
Distraught at having unwittingly caused his own demise, Grant kills himself out of sorrow. The Aristocrats.
