friday. up before noon, long drive to newark. plasma pay increased 18% to $60. took 7 boxes to food not bombs, and will take more tomorrow, so maybe i will get the garage cleaned a bit.
i told a story on reddit and linked to here, so i will copy that in the comments below. fixed dinner for mom, read her dear abby like every day, sorted the mail, brought in the trash cans.
i have one more bill to pay from yesterday's list, and i should check my list and see what i need to do next. shower, 2 emails, call tommy, plan wedding, outline complaint in sign case, go through
stack of mail, write down the timeline of the bmv dispute. review my taxes now that i have my w-2 and 1099s. clean the bedroom.
that'll do for a start. i figured out i need to wash the rugs in vinegar to reduce the cat smell. i should check when my sister is coming to visit, so i can do some cleaning first.
title comes from that time a scottish conductor asked us "are your traveling unafraidy?" and we misunderstood.

reduce your expenses. work on your exit strategy. 30 years ago i gave up being a very good dishwasher to become a bad lawyer. last year i got to spend 6 weeks washing dishes at a korean restaurant in my spare time. really enjoyed it. permalinksaveeditdisable inbox repliesdeletereply [–]userinthehouse 4 points 7 hours ago We wanna hear more. :) permalinksaveparentreportgive awardreplied [–]arbivark 1 point 15 minutes ago ok. being a lawyer is my expensive hobby. i have issues with depression and procrastination so it wouldn't be responsible for me to try to do it for a living. so i juggle 6 side hustles. january 1 2020 i went to lincoln nebraska for a $5,000 medical study lasting 6 weeks. the study only took 20 minutes a day, unlike most of them that are inpatient. i had seen a dishwasher wanted sign at a korean restaurant i'd eaten so i went in and got the job. i didnt tell them i was only staying 6 weeks. this job covered my rent and minimal expenses and gave me something to do - usually i just hang out on reddit all day. it paid like $9/hr. i am recovering from a car crash, so this was the first time in a while i'd had a physical labor job i was able to do well. so it was kind of physical therapy. what they didnt know when they hired me was that i excel at cleaning restaurants. whenever i caught up on the dishes i cleaned. we went from 14 health code violations to zero. 6 weeks later i was mostly done, and ready to move on. it was a friendly mom and pop place where i was treated with respect and well fed, and learned a bit about korean cooking. after law school i'd spent a year as headwaiter to the dalai lama's nephew, because he already had a dishwasher. the medical studies shut down for a bit after that so i went to work for amazon for a while. i wanted to make some extra cash to buy more tesla stock. i lived off my plasma income and banked the money, but i chickened out from putting it into tesla because the share price had risen to $600 which seemed too risky. i currently have only 7 shares. did some more studies. made money opening bank accounts and credit cards for the bonuses. had some rental income. the monthly check from grandfather's oil well went down to about $200/mo. ended up making 40k. continued running my tiny recycling business that i started when i was 19. i have almost no expenses except gas and utilities. this year i'm taking it easy, being essentially a butler to a rich relative while my nephew is in school this semester, then i'll hand that job back to him and look for another medical study. today i did plasma and dropped off 8 boxes of food and clothes to food not bombs, which is the one social interaction i have during covid. in my spare time i am working up a case about political signs - anybody admitted in delaware and willing to discuss being local counsel? thank you for asking. more of the story, in daily petty detail, at http://www.stripcreator.com/comics/arbitrary/.
