Truganini was born in 1812 and was daughter of the leader of the leader of a south-east tribe. She was taking part of the tradition until the Europe invasion.

With her family mostly dead she decided to make a stand. By then she was one of the few full-blooded Tasmanians left she decided to isolate them to Flinders Island to save them.

After most of them died from disease so after trying to make a new settlement she became an outlaw with three other Aboriginals. After two being hanged she was exiled to Oysters Cove and died.
