I am sick and tired of coming into this store and being greeted!
Was that one of Grisham's earliest works?
Hi! Could I help you find anything?
That's it! I'm going to write a letter to your corporate office!
Hee hee. That was fun!
No one ever gets fired for doing thier job.

Was in a hurry the other day at the music store and brushed off a helpful worker. Went back a few days later and the same guy asked if I needed any help. I didn't want to be mean twice in a row, so I smiled, looked him in the eyes and said, "No, thank you, just looking for something to tickle my fancy." Then I walked away muttering to myself, "Who the hell says, 'Tickle my fancy?'"

Most clerks understand and the brush off is part of the job. This strip was based after a remark made to one of my part timers. He actually said, "I'm tired of you! Leave me alone!" even though she never met the customer before, and the whole greeting only took seconds and could have been ended with a "no thankyou." I felt protective of my staff, so I told her within his earshot that she was in the right, and not to let it bother her..and laughed about it. He didn't stay long. (May not sound like good business...but there is a line that can be crossed when the person is no longer a customer and becomes a distruption of the business.)
