I do stuff with power tools.

I have one of those Workmate type of clamping tables by Sears:

But no real workbench in my shop. So I made the clamping table into a 2'x4' workbench with a crappy hunk of plywood that I laminated with tempered hardboard and trimmed out with poplar.

The groovy part is underneath, where it clamps onto the stand.

In the middle is an oak cleat glued and screwed to the tabletop. The jaws clamp onto this. At either end of the cleat are two more cleats, which turn on hanger bolts sunk into the first cleat. You tighten these down with wingnuts. They hold onto the underside of the clamping jaws with little hardboard pads.

Here is a sled I made to do accurate crosscuts on my cheap little table saw:

It has oak runners that slide in both miter slots and an acrylic guard on top to keep little splinters of wood from impaling your eyeballs at high speed.
