Bec really likes the obscure Biblical girl's name Zillah. I took some convincing, but it grew on me, and we decided that our first girl would be Zillah Anne. Then the Godzilla remake came out. Bec and I were sitting in the cinema waiting for some other movie to start, saw one of the teaser trailers. We turned to each other, and in perfect unison said, "Well, so much for Zillah."

We both really like the Egyptian name (with many spellings) Ayisha ("Ah-yee-sha") and hope to have a daughter named Ayisha Lyn one day. Bec loves amethyst, the stone, and we like that as a name, shortened to Amy of course.

In contrast, all our ideas for boys' names are terribly normal - Richard Lee will be our first boy, followed by Peter Robert if we have that many kids.

Coptics... they are an interesting bunch. One of the oldest non-Catholic Christian churches to survive today, along with (I think) Greek Orthodox. I can't remember which saint it was who founded their Church, but they just never did the Holy Roman Empire thing.
