I finally watched Memento today, what a fucking great film, it's quite clever and stylish, like Bladerunner meets Fight Club.

The website really helps expand the story and on the DVD there's a hidden version of the movie, re-edited to play backwards (forward) showing the events in the correct order. It's not as good as the original version, but helps you to notice a couple of good clues.

That seems kind of redundant; you can play the chapters in reverse order to begin with.

I loved Memento! And I have to agree again with LadyJ (this is becoming a habit!) Existanz SUCKED ASS!

I was completely creeped out by that oozing pod thing. But, other than that I laughed mostly..anyone notice Jennifer Jason Leigh fell off the face of the earth after that tripe?

One of my other favorite "E" movies is Entropy...Steven Dorff..mmmmm!

Yeah, but it's actually edited differently, so that the black and white "present" part of the story (when he's on the phone) is all together and the rest of the story runs smoothly without repeating itself.

I've brought this thread back from the dead because I'm trying to find the "hidden edit" of the movie. Kajun Firefly had mentioned it. Can ya tell me how to find it, or were you just yanking our chains?

Put the DVD in like you normally would. At the chapter screen, tap the 'up' key on your remote. Then tap your heels three times and say 'There's no place like home.' Then, using the remote again, press the combo up-down-up-down followed by two quick taps on the B button. This should be the super uppercut, and if you time it right, you can make your opponent's head fall off.

When you go into the "Special Features" section, all the options spin around as Polaroid shots (I think), then, there's a gap between when the last one spins off and the first one comes to the front again, THAT'S when you hit ENTER or whatever button you have on your remote.

Fight Club (the film) = Top Notch.

The book is a bit different and, in my opinion, slightly funnier tho.

I feel that American Psycho should get a mention too as it is plainly FUCK-ED UP-ED!

And funny.

I felt a bit odd watching American Psycho, since I was pissing myself laughing through 95% of it. Sure it's a nasty film, but the black humour touches upon pure genius at times.

The movie had to be funny. If it was anything like the book, we would have spontaneously combusted, only to reappear and combust once again. The book takes 'skullfucking' to a whole new level...

I just saw Capt Corelli's Mandolin...I flipped when I realized the stupid greek dude was none other than PATRICK BATEMAN!

I kept waiting for him to whip out a chainsaw.
I loved American Psycho...the humor was just awesome.

Supposedly, Easton-Ellis' book "The Rules of Attraction" is either being made or is a movie. That was pretty interesting too...but not as good as Psycho.

Christian Bale, who plays Bateman, is apparently a strong contender for a role in the third Harry Potter film. I was surprised about that, and found out a few interesting things about him while looking for more information. First of all, he's from Wales (Welsh Psycho! "Ooh eh! Gonna kill ye, boyo!"). Secondly, he played the brilliant child lead in one of my favourite films - Empire of the Sun. Remember the spunky little British kid, lost in Japanese-invaded China? He was brilliant in that... quite a different role from the one for which he is most famous...

You said you wouldn't ask to have his babies!!! *pout* That's it, I'm running off with Gabe's wife now...

and "fuck", I haven't seen him in a while, I actually kind of miss his nonsense jibberings.

I kind of wish I was drinking milk so that it would shoot down my nose, instead of the scalding coffee that I was half sipping...

Well, you made a joke so funny that I scalded my mouth and will now have to try to discreetly apply lip balm while walking around Glasgow, so you should be happy, I guess.

It's kind of like running over a kid who's paralysed from the waist down and breaking both his legs, you're shocked that you hit him, but kind of relieved that it doesn't matter.

The difference in that situation is that, laughing as hard as I did at your running-the-kid-over thing, if I had burned myself with a hot drink, I would have thoroughly deserved it. :)

I just watched a truely excelent movie- Brainstorm. It was great if you could sit though it... anyone else see it?

Another great movie that I saw recently that would fall under this catagory would be "Pi".
