You wussbags would die in Australia.
Melbourne is on the Southern coast, so it has the coolest temperatures of any Australian capital apart from Hobart (Tasmania). Every summer, the days regularly get up past 35C (95F), and it is unusual to have a summer go by without a few 40C (104F) days. During one of the hottest Melbourne summers on record, the temperature never dropped below 25C (77F) for three weeks, not even at night. In the middle of that period weeks, the daily top was over 35C (95F) every day for over a week.
Of course, we rarely drop below freezing (0C, 32F) in any place in Australia, except in the mountains and in arid areas (where, as everyone knows, the hot days are balanced by freezing nights). In the most populous areas of Australia, it just doesn't snow. You want to ski, you go up into the mountains, or take a holiday in New Zealand. Roughly the top half of the country never really has winter at all, but most of us, stupidly, live in the bottom half. Damned English colonists...
