Terrorists need to start blowing up the fat assholes who make the decisions that oppress them in the first place. Frankly, I'm a little glad the UK cops are carrying firearms again. I would be a little scared in a world where the cops were armed with mace, stun guns and large sticks.

But DAMN, I saw one guy who I would describe as a UK SWAT team member carrying an MP-5.

I agree with the general sentiment. At first I was just agreeing that "hey, this is just because the US is the evil overlord to a lot of people". Then Spain, now the UK. How many more major, successful countries must be blown up before everyone realizes that these guys aren't just confused and angry at the oppressors.

All in all though, my heart goes out to those in the UK. Also to the Russians, the Spanish and everyone else heartlessly attacked by these idiots. May this not turn the entire world into a bunch of Xenophobes.

I agree with the Met police carrying firearms but i don't think its necessary for anywhere else in the UK.

At least it ensures that our police force are fit :) for the last few hundred years if a cop needed to kill someone they'd have to kick him to death :)

The second night after I moved to Kensington, a guy tried to break into my flat. I called the cops and nine constables converged on my building from two directions. They caught the guy, kicked him mercilously, and threw him into a paddy wagon (or whatever you guys call it there).

At that point, I didn't care that they weren't carrying guns--I felt safe.

Then again, that feeling went away when I started having to evacuate my building on a weekly basis due to Islamic bomb threats to the building across the street.

Turns out the guy was a Brazilian electrician...

This past week, for one reason or another, I found myself in the scum-hole that is London. The only other time I visited "the most depressing city in Britain" was when the World Trade Center had turned into an express airport and everybody was shitting themselves that the same might happen over here, assuming the terrorists could find a tall enough building worth crashing into.

So imagine my delight when I get on the London underground at Mile End station, travel through Liverpool Street station and discover that some fucker is trying to off me with a bag of rusty nails and Mickey Mouse explosives.

I swear, if I ever find myself in London again, I'll shoot myself in the head five times.
