Ummm.... nobody else seemed to point it out, but the default user comments are based on the numer of messages you have posted on the forums. Nobody decides when you are no longer a newbie - well, Gabe and Brad sort of did, when they set up the numbers, but it is not personal at all. To get a personalised user comment, you need to make a donation toward the upkeep of the site, and request your new title.

Misplaced lecturing? I posted my post for all the newbies. If the shoe doesn't fit, don't wear it. It's as simple as that. I never said, "You, fuzzyman, are guilty of behaving in this manner!" I said "This, as I see it, is what is required to break free of newbiedom."

I posted it because lately a lot of newbies have been behaving like dumbasses and expecting to be applauded for it. I didn't consider fuzzyman to be one of those people, but his post gave me a good jumping-off point.

I can see how pointless the post is, at this point, because the people who agree already saw it that way, and the people who disagree are dumbass fucktards who will never understand.

I give up.
