That must have been last January 7th.

I don't think I knew about most of that stuff. I'm sorry (and maybe a little surprised) to hear that you've had to put up with such aggravations just to maintain a basically lighthearted web site.

It sounds like you haven't seen them, but there have been movie and book condensation threads -- some of the finest work on the site, in my opinion. I wouldn't say no to a dedicated forum, although I'm not sure how much use it would get, given that all of these threads have fallen back a few pages by now.

We Got Movies!
Can we read?
BANDS IN THREE PANELS

As long as I'm posting here, I'll take some credit for spearheading the effort to get an FAQ written. It's not exactly an innovation, but I have to take what I can get.

The what mentioned above is total fiction. Please don't take it seriously!

Those are just the ones that stand out in my mind because I'm kind of negative. There have been lots of really cool things, a lot of which you guys had already pointed out in this thread. All of the creative initiative by people has been excellent and really neat for me. I still get a huge kick out of seeing people find new ways to use the engine for fun stuff. But I don't really remember the specifics of the beginning. But that night I had to argue with a system administrator on the phone because somebody spammed Usenet with their stripcreator URL -- that I remember clearly.

I may add it. If it doesn't get used, I can just can it and move any threads in it into the Read My Damn Comics forum.

I had read some of those threads, but not all of them. A lot of really clever stuff in there.

That's true, I forgot about that. You've been a huge help with a lot of things since very early on. I still use the FAQ assembler gizmo you wrote.

Pretty much anyone who's ever reminded me of anything should probably get some credit. Like right now I'm remembering that I forgot to add various things to the FAQ that you (and/or someone else) had suggested a while ago. And earlier today I had forgotten to add DexX's new forum user graphic, but he reminded me and it's done now.

I have a Palm Pilot now. I should put some of these things into it.

The three-panels forum could be called the "Reader's Digest Forum". :)

Brad... sincerely, thank you for putting up with so much shit to keep this site up and running. I've been here for a year, now, and I have never spent so many hours per week on a single site. I don't know exactly how, but the features of this site have managed to attract an amazingly cool bunch of people. This is by far the best online community I have ever been involved with, and I am glad that I can help out in my little way with the graphics.

This is a cool bunch of people, and you, Brad, brought them together. :)

pita - You put just the comic number (the last few digits in a comic's url) between comic tags - [comic][/comic]. For instance, to show that comic above, you would put 51067 between the tags.

Most of us have set up our accounts so that comics are shown in the forum itself, and you don't have to click anything to make them show up. If you want to do that, go to the top of this page and click edit account. The page that leads to will have a checkbox or drop down menu marked something along the lines of "Show strips in forum". Enable it, type in your password verification up the top, then hit "save".

That's all there is to it.

Thank you, DexX ! I'm not too old to learn, after all.

I went to faq's, but unless I was looking in the wrong place what I needed to know wasn't there.

Thank you LoveBunner !

When I would edit my account, I used to type my password into the "Confirm Password:" box before hitting save. Then, as an experiment, I tried hitting save without confirming the password and discovered that that works, too. I think the "Confirm Password:" box only needs to be completed if you change your password, which can be accomplished by just filling in the "Password:" field with whatever you want to change it to and typing the same thing in the confirm field.

Short version: If your password automatically is put into the Password field, you don't need to type it again.

Much shorter version: If put don't again.

I don't know if this is news to anyone but I thought I'd share in case it is...
