If I'm going to be there, it has to be either June or July. The soon-to-be-missus and I are planning on having the wedding in late August, early September.

Fair warning, HC, September is hot. Like 90F when you're wearing more clothing than you've ever worn outdoors (even in the middle of winter!). Then people want you to pose 40 bazillion times while sweat is beading down your face and you're thinking "I really don't want anyone to have this picture" but you smile anyway.

What I mean is, good luck!

By all means, don't come to Cleveland.

There's enough posturing ninnies there, already : )

Actually, PLEASE feel free to leave me out of ANYthing that's hosting the angry little boys contingent.

Sorry about the lame tirade... I'd try and post a really good one, but I really CBA.

Have a nice time shtormin' da castle!

See you in the funny pages, kidz.

Yay! Silly old grumblebum bunner.

Yeah, see, the whole Cleveland thing?

I'm from Buffalo, so I've seen about enough of the lonely, barren, decaying industrial town thingie to last a lifetime.

Plus, there's the whole fact that, as a serious rock snob, I'm simultaneously enticed (by the memorabilia) and repulsed (by the whole concept of enshrining youthful rebellion) by the whole R&R Hall of Fame thingie.

But if I got to squeeze your ass, all would be fine. :D

Maybe there in your fair state of Misery, but in coastal Virginia it's quite nice. Still a bit on the hot side, but all the activities will be indoors so aside from the obligatory pictures on the steps of the church everything will be inside in the AC.

Ah yes, summer weddings in the Old Dominion. I went to one in June, hottest day of the year -- 95/95, in a tiny un-airconditioned church, with an outdoor reception. Everyone was taking off their jackets except little old sweatinglikeapig me, and you know why? Because the butt of my pants had decided to rip open, that's why!

I'd also like to be left out of anything hosting the angry old man contingent. If I wanted to deal with someone's mid-life crisis, I would have listened to my dad all those years ago instead of setting him ablaze.

Nathan mentioned something to me that I thought might/might not be a good idea. I'm in Memphis, TN/Tunica, MS area about once a month (visiting mom in law). Not that this has to be an "official" Stripcreator meet up, but if anyone thinks that Memphis/Tunica is a better place to meet up, I'll pack a camera and a few bucks next summer and we can make arrangements from there. Let me know if this works out for any of you. (Actually, anytime is good for me, I'll let you know the dates we're traveling down that way, if you let me know which month/timeframe you can make it).

You know what's really awesome about Cleveland, though? It's an hour's carpool from Cedar Point. Wouldn't a stripperfest rollercoasterfest be awesome?

Wow, I looked it up and that is ONE LONG drive. 7 1/2 hours. Even if you book it (Like I often do), you'd still be driving pretty much all day.

Good grief. I assumed that since it took me 3 hours or less to get to Cleveland, TN, that it wouldn't be that big of a trek but then I mapquested it and it said more like 6 hours. Well, I probably wouldn't go just to spend the day, but if there were a stripperfest, I guess I'd rent a room or something. I'd need to bring my learning Spanish CDs to keep myself occupied in transit.

By the way, everyone, today is the 40 anniversary of the arch here in St. Louis. Ivy, boorite, Kajun, and Jes, you all got to see it in its 39th year.

The north tram, which we all rode up on (we took the south tram back down to ground level), was established in 1968. The south tram was opened to the public the year after.

And still, after 40 years, snow globe makers still seem to think that the arch stretches across all the major landmarks of the city, when really it's about 30 feet from being in the Mississippi.

Not to mention the US Mint thinking it bridges the river ...

In 1993, we went to the riverfront after a baseball game and the arch was probably around 5 feet from the river. There were still two of the steps you could walk down (Of the 20 or so steps to the arch from the riverfront).

Just to mention I'll be in the US a little earlier than I thought. April 2nd-6th is my companies annual tech conference in upstate New York so I plan to take a few days in Boston afterwards.

Subject to change, but any takers?

Oh, and for advanced notice to those of you who said "Maybe, if you give me enough notice I maybe might if I can come visit you in Tennessee/Mississippi": I will VERY LIKELY be in the Memphis, TN/Southaven, MS/Tunica, MS area March 17 - 20th. Because my husband has to work in a job that doesn't provide regular weekends off, I have to schedule around the weekends he DOES have off. In other words, THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE!

March 20th is the official beginning of Spring, validating my idea that Beale Street should be a great place to meet up and drink up. Unless you don't like alcohol, music, and half naked people.

If anyone is interested, let me know. If someone makes plans with me, I'll make this a definite plan, otherwise I won't feel so bad if I have to cancel.

Boorite and I will be in school til roughly May 5. Spring break is March 13-17. So, unless something is spring break or after May 5, we're out.

Jes, any chance we could entice you and Kajun out here for a fun-filled visit of the American west?
