I would agree with the thought process behind that, except all you have to do is look through history... mediaval cultures were most assuredly very violent and warlike.

Maybe not their children, but I still respect a man like George Washinton who was actually out there in his own war. The leader should be the first into battle, with his sword held high.
My problem is that war has no merit anymore. There is no honor in victory.
I think all people who can and wish to should fight, and those to can't or don't wish to should be allowed to step back. There should be no stupid bickering about if we should or not.
People used to fight over land, now we fight over intangible ideals. Who's right and who's wrong. Personally, I'd rather not fight in a war where I really don't agree with either side.
Maybe we should have a battle of the bands. I'm sure AC/DC would kick Habneb-Al-Jabar's ass. :)
