Has anyone ever encountered the following error whilst attempting to sign on to MSN Messenger:

"You cannot use Messenger at this time because your contact list is not available. Please try again later.

Click Help to learn more about your contact list 0x81000378"

It's been doing this since this morning (it worked fine yesterday) and I've tried rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling, closing my firewall, everything - and the stupid thing still won't sign me in!

Any ideas?

What else where you running yesterday? It sounds like your contact file got corrupted by something.

On another note, I'm fairly sure some spyware I have on my PC (as a necessary conciliation to KaZaA, which woin't run without some) hooked into MSN Messenger and used it to spam people with my Hotmail account.

MSN suddenly started working again about an hour ago. *shrugs*

Yeah, I've had the same thing happen to me before, and it just stops after a while. I'm thinking it has something to do with the MSN servers, since your buddy lists isn't stored on your computer.
