not_Scyess is very right on the concept.
I bought both the limited editions of Radiohead's Kid A and Hail to the Thief CDs. It's true that the packaging is quite snazzy, and the artwork on the Kid A disc comes across better than on the regular CD-booklet version, however, both of the discs are difficult to remove from the packaging. In fact, I scratched the Kid A disc the first time I got it out.
To preserve the integrity of both discs, I made copies and put them in separate cases which I now play instead of the originals. So, I spent time and a bit more money making my limited editions look and act like the regular editions.
