Ever work on an entry to a contest that you don't enter for some reason? Perhaps because it doesn't conform to the rules, but you liked the idea anyway and went ahead with the comic? Like this one of mine in the Star Wars thread, for example, that lacks the required cameo?

I was Frosty in the Mystery Contest. Here's an alternate entry I thought up for the final round. But I still prefer the "Don't Drown the Animals Act" one that I entered.

And here's a comic I had in mind since I created the character. I think it's brilliant, and though I don't expect many people would agree, I would have entered it anyway if I'd ever gotten a set of rules that would have allowed it. Many of the potential rules for the final round were likely candidates. If only wirthling hadn't immediately trashed the flashback rule.

Hmm... this thread just gave me an idea. I like entering comic contests, I just don't like winning and running one. So, from now on I'm going to preface my non-entries with NaE.

And when someone asks what's NaE, I'll say that's only for the initiated! And the initiated will only be those who read this thread! And then
