Just a thought.... It would be fairly easy to display the latest comic strip or a random comic strip on the homepage. This would add a little more spice to the text-only design.

The homepage actually used to display a random strip until a couple of months ago. I personally prefer the new design, especially since you can still get a random strip from /random.php. If enough people preferred seeing a random strip on the homepage, one possibility would be letting them set that preference in their cookie.
