If giant monsters ate corpses out of coffins like we eat peanuts out of peanut shells. Just imagine a giant monster opening a bag of corpses freshly dead in their salty coffins.
The monster would pick one up and lick the outside of the coffin, then perhaps snap open the coffin with it's teeth and hold the coffin upside down over it's mouth so the corpse would then fall into it's hungry mouth to be chewed up and swallowed.
Of course Morticians would have to salt the bodies as well as make them look pretty for the mourners. Not to mention having to exhume the bodies from the graves in order to ship them to the packaging plant where human corpses in coffins would be treated like nothing more important then a generic junk food item for monsters.
