Why are there so many strips with the jesus and cross? Im pretty sure i havent seen one funny one that featured it. Any other stripcreator cliches (besides the asian girls)?

To answer your other question, just browse through the comics in the forums here...you will find so many cliches, you will realize that the use of cliches is, in fact, cliche.

I hear there's been some grousing about the over-use of Jesus in comic strips. I'm starving. Can I please put forth the theory that Jesus is probably the most iconic figure in the world? I need something to eat, anything. Therefore, using Jesus in your comic automatically lends a heightened level of irony to its context. Who do I have to blow around here to get some fah-riggin' manna already?!

I love the cliches on here, they seem to get funnier every time I see a new one. Then again that might be because I'm new... give it some time and I could grow to hate them.

Well, it isn't necessarily that we HATE them...it just gets to the point where it is no longer creativity driven because the cliche loses its humor value. So when the standard cliches are used nowadays, everyone is like "oh gee, this again" and it isn't funny, which is what a comic is supposed to be.

Unless of course something truly new and creative is done with said cliche.

But personally it takes a lot of use... LOTS of it before I stop laughing at a cliche. Part of the humor is in just how pervasive it is, at least to me. And of course, the fact that something so "predictable" can still surprise you makes it all the more priceless when it does.
