I was thinking what if someone made a serious comic series. I know this place was made to be funny but hear me out. If someone could make solid comics with an interesting story, established characters, And its not a comedy, would you read it? Think about it. Batman and Spider-Man comics rarely make jokes but it doesn't matter. Why you ask. Because of a great story, thats why. some might think its impossible. Im willing to try.
If you would tell what you think of my idea I will gladly make a story, pick out characters, and turn the story arc into anywhere from 5-15 comics to show some kind of beginning to the story. I will have jokes but it wont be the soul purpose of the story. Please tell me ideas for what it should be about. I will take requests for the premise.

Spider-Man and Batman actually do stuff, though. Stripcreator characters do little more than stand there. If you can make a compelling, serious comic with people standing around, more power to you. I'm sticking to silly jokes.

Nobody else asks permission to make comics that no one will like. Why should you have to?

I would, however, advise you not to write a series just for the sake of writing a series. Write because you actually have an idea; don't force it.

I think Lennon was on of (if not the greatest.) song writers of all time. My Cousin actually has an all 50's room and Beatles pics are all over it. Its really cool.

Someone actually DID try to make a serious comic. I don't remember who. But basically what happened is that because the SC characters ARE so limited in what they can do, and because they look, well, comical, the series BECAME a comedy.

SC comedy is the mold that grows on the orange of serious drama. If you leave it out on the counter of comic making, eventually it will show up, and you'll have to throw it into the trashcan of running-out-of-ideas and buy more oranges at the store of fruit.
