Speaking as someone who has a cadre of lawyers (mainly to protect my employer from all the rest of the lawyers in California), they only do what they are told to do by their client. Don't blame the lawyers, blame the RIAA.

In other words, lawyers don't sue college kids--the RIAA does.

Also...Jack Valenti of the MPAA who was also cited in the article is the biggest asshole of them all. I can't wait to see what his next move is.
