where i live now is this little community of victorian mansions smack dab in the middle of the ghetto, across from the women's prison.
It's nice to have neighbors who recycle and garden and say hi when they walk their dogs.
But it's still the ghetto... last thursday i heard a 21-gun salute that turned out to be a mass murder of a hispanic family. it's been front page every day since then.
