This is the third year I've lived in this village-within-a-city, but it's the first year I got up early enough for the 4th of july parade.
It rained like crazy, but a good time had by all. There were floats made from litle red wagons, and kids in costumes, and wheelbarrow and sack races and hoolahoop girls.
The best part was when the rooster crowed during the national anthem at the flag raising at the town hall.
They do some cutesy event like this about every other month, have been since 1875.
now i can either work on the memo, or go meet john scalzi at a local con http://scalzi.com/
It lets us try to forget we're right in the middle of the ghetto. Head east of town past the arsenal and turn left at the women's prison
I'll be moving out once I have electric at my new place, cuz it's $425/mo to live here, but I like it. I moved some of my flower boxes to the front yard.
