frist one was easy: flat tire, no jack handle, wrong rim, shop's closed, good samaritan saved me.
yesterday my best volvo broke down twice, so i stayed in a hotel in hammond, caught an enterprise rent-a-car to waukegan at warp 5, screening went well for a $4600,
shopped for a locksmith in boystown, made it back to hammond by 6, dipped a toe in lake michigan, closest i get to a beach till hawaii.
$gas, hotel, rentacar, gas, toll, train, bus, a drink, one volvo. today wasn't cheap.
took a train to the loop and caught a megabus. it was 20 minutes late and so was i so i hopped on just in the nick. my computer had still been on indiana time and i lost my phone somewhere today.
i made it home, but the volvo is still up there, all its idiot lights lit up and wont run. rescue planning tomorrow.
since it was past 6, the coffee shop in the monodnock building was closed. that's when i realized i was late for the bus.
my clean socks are still in the volvo. i will bike over to the other house tomorrow and maybe buy a battery for volvo no. 49.
it's past midnight and i'm beat, although i should wash first. i'm pleased that not only did i cope, i kept my blood pressure and ekg calm enough to pass.
it turns out nobody can make a duplicate of the keys to our apartment except bob's lock shop, and bob's dead. i tried 3 pro locksmiths in chicago, and we found out they are a custom job, which is why nobody local could do it.
