	we like cases with tasty names. the court summarily affirmed jim bopp's case challenging soft money. that is, the government wins this round.

	but the big news is gerry mander v north carolina. 5-3, thomas and liberal wing found against gerry. it's hard to quickly summarize the decision.


	the twitterverse is doing it's thing.


	it's late may, so the court action tends to speed up as the end of the term looms.


	so the justices can go on recess for the summer.
