It says people will be in lines all night from midnight on my news, but I am thinking "Who will stand in best buy parking lot from midnight to 9am" that also has 400 dollars to spend? especially on tuesday morning/monday night.

seems like bullshit to me. Pre-order, yes. You can forget about getting one in stores that do pre-orders. But these places that are going to have you come in the store. Thats just humiliation.

I played the call of duty 2 demo on xbox 360 and my asshole clenched up though. it was that real.

I'm going to get two of them. Then I'll have one to shit on, and one to cover it up with.

PS3 comes out in a year. Thats a long time.

A lot of people are 'anti-microsoft'. They apparently equate the Windows OS or Office Productivity software to the game console in some way.

Thing is, it runs without a hickup and its pretty sweet. So when they deny themselves a good game doesn't make sense to me.

I hear you, Kaenash. Company grudges are stupid. For example: I haven't bought a Nintendo system since the 64, but I don't have any prejudice against Nintendo; I just think all the games they've released suck ass. The only good games for the Gamecube are also on PS2 and Xbox, so why buy a Gamecube?

The ability to save games on a system hard drive is what sold the Xbox to me; I hate having to pay $20-$30 for a memory card that gets filled up within a month or so. Plus, the graphics on the Xbox are a touch better and the online system works better than Sony's.

I'm not going to get a 360 when it comes out (mainly because I won't be home to do so), but I'll be sure to grab one once the rush is over and the price drops.

Game Cube is pretty cool in some respects. I have a 10 y/o and she plays a lot of stuff on it.

My point exactly. Aside from Smash Bros., there isn't anything available for the Gamecube that interests older gamers and isn't available on another system. Nintendo's gone too kiddy for me in recent years, though if it releases some decent titles I'll buy back into the franchise.

And considering how much of a fuss will be made over it, I doubt Microsoft will wait long before releasing 360's with built in hard drives and churning out add-on hard drives for the one without.

Nintendo are still the most innovative games company, and out of the 3 I think I'll probably stick with them, the PS3 will obviously go for the mainstream market, selling itself on the back of a GT update and a new Grand Theft Auto, The Xbox will go for the hardcore gamer, with its online functionality, they'll be looking to capitalise on the success of the previous Xbox in this field, but will inevitably still be playing catch up to sony for market share, and Nintendo will go for gameplay, you've only got to look at the new controller for the revolution to see that, 2 buttons only and it reacts to how you move it.
Besides, its quite harsh to label the GC as just a kids machine, there are plenty of quality adult themed titles for it, for example Eternal Darkness. The only game I truely miss on the GC is Burnout 3, and EA had taken the soul out of that series anyway. Plus you get games you simply wont get elsewhere, Zelda, Mario, etc, so while I have nothing against any of the forthcoming consoles, as each will have its highpoints, I personally am going for the revolution. Besides its cheaper meaning I can afford more booze.

Ever hear of Resident Evil 4? And I'm an older gamer and nothing is funner than playing drunken Mario Kart or Smash Bros.

Mario Kart DS looks awesome. I'm gonna get it pretty soon and set up my wireless network.

Super Monkey Ball is a kiddy game with a sweet multiplayer race mode, similar to Mario Kart. But, as HC has said, it's also on XBOX.

Perfect Dark Zero looks damned good, and I liked the original and am excited for the online play. I too will wait for the rush of the 360 to calm and more Bundle systems to be available.

They're really kiddy, sure, but some of the Gamecube exclusive titles are the best of any console. It's not my favorite system, but you can't dismiss Nintendo just because they're more kid-oriented. Their games are damn fun to play. I'm a mature gamer, but I don't mind a game without blood flying all over the place so long as I'm having a good time.

And I'll be getting an Xbox 360. However, one of my friends sold his Dreamcast to add to his 360 fund, and I think it's one of the most horrible mistakes he's ever made. That pretty much sums up my opinion.

I will be getting the revolution, because you're able to download NES, SNES, and select other Nintendo System games on the hard drive.

I've never been a fan of the Resident Evil series and I don't understand the allure.

I'm not saying the games aren't fun, but I like a really in-depth story, dialogue, character interaction, the whole shebang. There's not enough of that in GC games to make the system worth it for me. I might buy into the Revolution, because what I've seen of the new Zelda game really has me intrigued. I'd like to demo the controller first; that thing really puts me off, but I'm willing to give it a go before I completely turn away.

HC the machine is going to be completely backwards compatible with the present gamecube aswell, including allowing use of Gamecube controllers (only way I can see them being able to do snes/n64 games really) Which means I can update without having to rid myself of my current back catalogue of games, and that I can give my present gamecube to my nephews to keep them preoccupied.

Ive got around 20 games for the system, 10 of which Id hail as classics, and 6 or so as very good, the others are a bit meh, but I did get 3 of them with the system, and those 3 are generic EA titles anyway like medal of honor.

My favourite game I own is probably Mario Party 6, as its great to have a few friends around, Donkey Konga is legendary also.

Im on a wait and see thing with the 360, Perhaps when the geeks crack it, and make it as useful as the old xbox(when chipped) then Id consider it.

But the counterpoint to that is I still have working copies of the machines before the GC, so backwards compatibility is irrelevant to me. I'm worried about how the controller will work for the games they release for the revolution. Plus, the fact that it requires batteries really makes me nervous, because in my experience the controller always loses power when you come to a crucial point in the game.

Like I said, I'll give it a try before I decide to buy one.

I got a 360 with Perfect Dark Zero, Call Of Duty 2, and Dead Or Alive 4. I have Elder Scrolls 4 preordered.

So far I haven't seen anything to render my DS obsolete, but I could be surprised in the near future.
