No, you idiot, it was perfectly obvious that the stupid Andie McDowell fuckwad would become a nice, 'upright citizen of society.' It's a perfectly didactic tale, straight from the book to the movie. That's not to say it isn't a fun or enjoyable movie, just blatantly overrated.

Kubrick's best is either Lolita or Dr. Strangelove.

If by "least fucking predictable" you mean "completely fucking awful" then I wholeheartedly agree.

It may have been shocking in it's day (note: shocking does not always mean good) but it has aged terribly. It's a culty film that's nice to parody and reference if only to connect with other people who have sat through what is, quite honestly, an skid-mark on Kubrik's record.

It's a nice point he's making, but really, you kind of get it after half an hour. When you take away it's nonsense dialect and bizarre wardrobe, you have, basically, a pile of shit.

And then he was cured of his conditioning, returning him to the same depraved person he was before. Theere is not one element of this movie that is predictable, from the dialogue to the evolution of the characters... and you are a twat who's obviously never taken a film class in his life. Nothing had ever been witnessed in cinema like this movie before, and people have tried to imitate it since and failed.

HEY! Clockwork Orange may have been predictable in the sense of the actual sotryline, but the methods of getting there were not. It was obviously at its base just a moral tale, but very delightfully skewed.

Kubrick was a pretty damn good filmmaker, and most of us should be able to agree on that. Even if you don't like the content, you have to agree that at least he could PUT a coherent movie together. Which is more than I can say for a lot of the more "modern" filmmakers.

A.I. sucked balls, though. Total fucking balls. It makes me wonder what it would have been like if Kubrick had actually finished it himself. From now on, I will refer to the movie as "Space Pinocchio".

Yep, I own all of his movies on DVD, including "A Clockwork Orange", but it is still complete balls. Utterly utterly shit. There aren't even enough adjectives to describe how completely awful this tragedy of an abortion of a movie is.

I was actually thinking about my Kubrick collection on the drive home tonight and how I still haven't replaced my VHS copy of Paths of Glory with the DVD version and need to do that sometime soon.

Then I was deciding on whether or not to replace Clockwork Orange and I decided I didn't need to. I'm not saying the movie sucked, I'm just saying I don't need to watch it any more for the very reason kajun stated--it's aged horribly.
