Anyways, I don't agree with the way Jillian presented her point of view at all, but DX has a point. Racial profiling is always going to be around and there's nothing that can be done about it unless you intend on changing the way the government, law enforcement, and the general public thinks.

you may not be able to stop 'racism' or ignorance.
However, there are a lot of studies that point to the fact that racial profiling hasn't actually done anything effective other than give a free pass to people with an ax to grind.

no new terrorists have been stopped. Well, unless you count the several thousand we keep in gauntanamo including women and children without due process. naturally, we don't know if they actually 'did' anything, but I am sure that is constitutional.

And hence why no one at Guantanamo has been charged with any crime...

Look, I agree with what you're saying that the whole "let's gang up on the Arabs" thing is wrong, but nothing is going to change unless the people in charge lose their paranoia. Has there ever been a period of time in the last century where we have not had a mortal enemy, such as Russia, the Nazis, etc? Our leaders use fear and paranoia to keep us under control, because a complacent country is the last thing they want. According to them, complacency and appearing weak would lead to our downfall as a superpower. That's why Bush talks so much about "getting the enemy before they get us".

The problem starts with those in charge and ends with them.
