I had that problem. Try deleting the SC cookie, then you will automatically appear as logged off.

Hey brad, I thought of a great idea for the site, and I talked to some people that said you had been considering it. Add a donation bar:

to your site, like adventurers comics, and if you get enough donations, you add new art (or other features) to the server. That way, all your expenses for bandwidth are covered before you upload the art, and you can get compensation for the time it took you to add some features..

I made a bunch of progressively more finished versions of a mini-comic. If you want to use it to do this, instead of a bar, then tell me, and I'll send you the link to all of them. It could say "Finish this comic and get new art! Donate $500!"

Two nice-to-haves:

* Rating/voting system (a-la Red Meat Construction Set: it's very clever)
* (possibly related to the previous point) Favorite strip option (rather than favorite author)

Anyway, I've been meaning to mention this: I'm worried about those cookies being left on our computers to keep us logged in. I've been using the school computers quite a bit and sometimes I forget to log off, leaving my username open to misuse. Is there a way to redesign the system so that cookies aren't stored on the computers? Also, is it unsafe (security-wise) to store username and password on the computer (which is what I think these cookies are doing)?

Well, the best I could do is turn off automatic logging in when you make a comic or save a message in the forums. Though the amount of abuse people could really do to your account is probably minimal.

im a newbie so this may be stupid but...

It'd be nifty to be able to have a way to rate comics and also comment on them...like each comic having its own guest book for feedback and a rating system...sorta like what newgrounds has for portal entries...and a list for the best rated comics of the week and or overall/ever...

yeah..thats almost exactly what www.newgrounds.com uses for portal entries...it just works so well....

I support the idea of image-only cloning. I'm sure we've all experienced the distress of typing the first panel's text before cloning, which leads to having to delete it in the subsequent panels. And I wouldn't think people need text cloning much, anyway.

I love Kaddar's ideas for subtitles and the comic donation thing.

And I want a blowjob from Asian Girl #2 for my inut.

Copying the first panel and then deleting text from the next 2 is a pain in the rear. I support Image only cloning.

I'm all up for being able to delete comics. Because of my lack of typing skills, I've submitted loads of unfinished comics cuz I accidentally hit the 'enter' key. Makes me look like a damn fool, it does. I'd like to get rid 'o them.

That problem is easy to avoid, actually. Don't enter the title of the strip until you've finished writing it. That way, if you hit enter by mistake, it will warn you to enter a title instead of submitting the comic.

Also, deleting is available for donors. If you really want to get rid of those comics (or just want to help keep the site up), just send Brad some money.

Haven't any of you people heard of triple-clicking? Single click places the cursor, double click selects a word, and in some interfaces (including SC.com) a triple-click selects the whole text field.

I think that "click-click-click-Delete, click-click-click-Delete, click-click-click-Delete, click-click-click-Delete" would take considerably less time than programming an image-only panel cloning. It takes me about four or five seconds.

Other useful keyboard shortcuts you guys may find helpful are the old faithful Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, and Ctrl+V, copy, cut, and paste. If you get to the third panel and realise that you've fucked up the comic timing, so your speech balloons need rearranging, you can triple-click to select a whole balloon, Ctrl+X to cut the text out of the balloon, and Ctrl+V to paste that text into a different balloon. Keep one balloon empty and you can do a Towers of Hanoi thing, shuffling the speech balloons about without having to retype another word.

You're probably right. If it wouldn't be a lot of trouble to remove, I still think text-cloning is more of a hindrance than a help, but it's not really "that big of a deal", as they say in the States.
