Excuse me, mr. allah loving, freedom hatin, god-bashing blasphemer, but don't athiests believe that Jesus did in fact exist?

Or am I wrong, mr. two-faced, will-burn-in-Hell, is-in-my-prayers, sacrilegeous heretic?

Jesus aka "Jessy Love" aka "Son of Man Up on D" doth exist lest hith existenth doth somehow impedeth your punchline. -- Book of Sagan 12:4

I recently finished reading "Watchmen" by Alan Moore. It's due back at the library this Tuesday, but I might renew it if my husband wants to read it. I asked him if he wants to read it and he said "Maybe".

I also read volume 1 of Sin City that a friend gave me for Christmas. Hubby and I both enjoyed the movie that we rented on DVD.

I am currently reading the Astro City trade paperbacks.

I wish our library had Watchmen. I almost got it at the comic store yesterday, but considering I already had well over $100 of comics in my pile, I couldn't justify it.

I've been reading a couple Astro City trades for a while, but never really finish. Also trade #2 of the Invisibles. Other than my usual monthly issues, I also picked these up at the store yesterday:

Just Imagine Stan Lee Creating the DC Universe Vol 1 & 2
DC's Greatest Imaginary Stories
Batman Year One: Ra's al Ghul
Batman: Hush Returns
The DC Universe Stories of Alan Moore

I still have a year of Strangers in Paradise and Lucifer to catch up on. The nearest comic store is an hour and 15 minutes away from us, so visits are on a monthly basis.

I really want to get the trade of V For Vendetta but since I've had the single issues since they were released I can't justify it. But they are falling apart so I'm torn.

Now that Promethea and Transmetropolitan are over with, I'd like to get the trades for my bookshelf so I don't have boxes and boxes of comics everywhere. Especially since my brother horked most of my Transmetropolitan comics and now I have gaps. I did take his Ronin in retaliation though.

I mean, I'm not a comic geek at all. What makes you say that?

I only bought $50 worth of comics yesterday, mostly Marvel titles, and the new Frank Miller Batman and Robin.

Also, I continue my journey into UFO weirdness with Conspiracy of Silence by some guy named Randle, a retired USAF pilot/intelligence officer.

I've also recently read volumes 1 through 3 of "Emma Frost" and the first two volumes of "Mary Jane", both titles from Marvel Comics.

Also enjoyed "Spider-Man & Human Torch: I'm With Stupid".

Marvel 1602 by Neil Gaiman is pretty good. We bought that in hardcover.

Here are some other trade paperback titles I can recommend:

Y - the Last Man
Fables
Ex Machina
Preacher
Sandman
Transmetropolitan
Lucifer
Invincibles
The Walking Dead

My husband has the complete set of Transmetropolitan. He used to not be a comic book reader, but that all changed after I introduced him to the Preacher series.

They did: "Blade Runner" It used to be pretty popular, I wouldn't reccommend the movie either way, because it's pretty stupid.

Philip K. Dick is great. After you finish that one, check out "The Man In The High Castle". Also, "Time Out Of Joint" is a super duper Truman Show-esque read (except less of a terrible thing and more of a good thing). Dangerously awesome reading.

Also Ivy, your comic book geekery is what makes you glow with a rainbow colored light that symbolizes your inner child and Epicureanistic ideals.

Never hide that!

In memory of Hugo Gernsback, the Hugo Award is given every year. And in memory of Philip K. Dick, it's the Dick Award.

And let's not forget Horatio Q. Nebula.

Great book. Miller got slammed for DK2, mainly because he didn't do it like everyone thought Frank Miller did comics, but I thought it was exhilirating.

Ronin is one of the greatest stories ever written for comics.
