It's what all the 4-star clubbers are doing these days. =D

I've been trying to think of what I want to say here for an hour or so. I like the comments and don't want to see them go away. But I don't think they should be used as a medium for talking trash. If you have something to say to me, I hope you'd bring it up to me personally, instead of hiding in cowardice. But what's the point in having the comments if we're all going to have to post our names to it? How is it any different than saying in a forum post, "Hey, Chicka, you're ugly and your comics suck"? Quirky fun comments are one thing. Comments that belittle and degrade are something different. Like I said, I don't want to see this feature leave and I hope people can conduct themselves better. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of nothing, but I'm not the only one I've heard complaining, either.

Some people are going to like you, some people aren't. Some people are going to like your comics, some people aren't.

I personally believe the ratings should be based on comics only, but there's no rule that says they have to be and no way to enforce that they are. Someone could easily make the case that the ratings are for how much you like/dislike someone in the forums. Or, how much you like/dislike them based on both their comics and from the forums.

I think the fact that it is ambiguous is going to lead to comments of both types. If there were two sets of ratings - comics and forums - it might be different, but since there isn't, people are going to do what they want with the feature.
