You suggested spending money on the war in Iraq was unjust because we need to legalize drugs. I pointed out that wouldn't cost 60 billion to do.

Then you suggested we need to feed the homeless with that. I asked exactly in what manner you would deliver more food to hungry people, and how to deal with homeless populations who are mentally ill.

You moved on to say that people are murdering each other in the streets, and so we shouldn't fund the war in Iraq. I brought up that this is insane.

Now you want to know where I live. You know you've almost convinced me you're right. Oops did I say right, I meant suffering from mercury poisoning. I'd say go see a doctor, but there isn't much they can do. Just avoid more than 16 ounces of tuna per month and broken thermometers.

No, I am saying that having been sheltered, which hinges upon where you live, you lack the experiences necessary to look at things from a humanitarian aspect.

Well then you are suggesting my family dying of AIDS would change my mind about Iraq, because that's the only thing you could argue I haven't had compassion on. I never said AIDS funding should be taken away. In fact I pointed out the war in Iraq has no bearing on money going to AIDS.

I've been homeless as a child so I think it is you who is lacking perspective. I live in a bad neighborhood right now. What perspective is it you are going to give me? I'd like to hear it.

My point is, and always has been, that I think we were justified going to war in Iraq, regardless of a traditional WMD program existing. I've mentioned this every time you ask what my point is.

I keep asking what point of fact it is that you want me to reference. Also I am not an invalid, I can walk, eat, and usually clean myself without too many mishaps or romantic misunderstandings.

There may not be a satisfactory way to show cause and effect between the war and this, but Lybia appears to be agreeing to dismantle their WMD program, and lately Iran has been at least superficially cooperative. If the threat of a crushing U.S. invasion is at least partly the reason for this I think it demonstrates a good side-effect of the war. Zero-tolerance on WMDs would make at least weaker countries think twice about starting up programs.

It wasn't impossible for Gadhafi to make good inroads towards rejoining the civilized world. Despite his invasion Saddam could have made similar efforts. His road might have been a little harder, but it could have been done.

In any case it would seem the Bush adminitration invalidated the mandate of the U.N. (with respect to the Iraq war), and not the other way around.
