Start showing me these transparently moronic comments so we can establish a general consensus of what constitutes idiocy. I think in the context of these discussions, it may be important that all sides of these issues establish such boundaries to effectively keep the discussion on track.

As for boorite, why would anyone attack him because of what I have said or felt? That seems pretty petty and pedantic. Clark and Dean are members of the same party with a general commonality in political opinion. If Dean screams, do we laugh at Clark?

I have said that generally boorite represents how I feel politically. No one can attest to any such instance where boorite has said the same for me. We settled on that? I was saying that no one considered, years ago, when he was FIRST committing these evil heinous crimes, to put him in front of a tribunal and maybe give him a solid example of what he was SUPPOSED to be doing. Don't try to strip my arguments down into some basic fucking retarded statement.

Also, what I did was make a suggestion as to ONE POSSIBLE OPTION of what could have been done in the past. COULD HAVE. Operative phrase there. While all of you people were bitching about we shouldn't have this and oh yes we should, I made a goddamn constructive suggestion as to something that COULD HAVE been done. Not SHOULD HAVE. Andy, you're probably right. As long as you don't hear a YEEEEEAAAAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHH from me, we should still be able to have a dialogue.

I've also said, waaaaaaaaay back in this thread, that we should have helped rebels overthrow the regime from the inside. MaKK countered it by saying something like, 'What, we should let THEM handle it?' Like, a 'let them deal with it themselves' attitude. No, that is not what I meant, either. Empower the people to do it themselves. Believe me, it would not be the first time the U.S. has devoted resources to funding a rebel overthrow of a non-cooperative government.

Christ. That is a topic we haven't even broached. The situation in Northern Ireland has been really, really bad for a long time now. What I don't understand at all is how two sets of groups can fight like that. I mean, I don't understand the issue of skin color, or anything else, really, but these two groups of people are physically identical. How the hell do you tell a Catholic from a Protestant unless they are wearing symbols?

My point was going to be about failing communities but Idecided to nix the 12 paragraph rant - I posted this because I was shocked that so many people had killed themselves in such a short space of time on one estate. The suicide rate in an "average" prison is less than that.

I wasn't trying to make a point about Northern Ireland per se. Ghettos, be they in Belfast, the Bronx or Sydney (cf the recent Redfern riots) need some fixing, from within and without.

What about a recent study showing there was a negligible genetic difference between most Israelis and Palestinians? Are you backing up that statement with anything more than your ability to more readily identify with Israelis than Palestinians?

And are you saying people waring over religious differences is only a big deal if it's in a well-to-do country?

The United States was largely colonized because of religious differences. Get a clue Mikey, neighboring ideologies don't get a long, they remind a group that there god is just as imaginary as the next.
