You still need a court order for a wiretap, just like on the phone.

There's a problem here, but it doesn't have much to do with the "kind of world" someone is trying to create. If you write in a backdoor to a programming for any purpose, it can and will be exploited by those for whom it was not intended.

Yep, electronic voting without a paper trail is pretty stupid.

That guy worked under Clinton beforehand, I wouldn't really call him in Bush's "camp". When a president moves in he doesn't fire every single person in the government, from the top down, and put in his own supporters.

Big deal, Clinton produced VNRs, every big organization makes VNRs, Kerry is really scrambling for issues by trying to paint this as something bad. It's not propaganda if it's talking about a law that was already passed, and not specifically trying to influence a vote or election.

These "press conferences" are rumored to take place in, yes, the White House its very self. This kind of behavior from the President should no longer surprise anyone though.

Saddam 'enjoying' interrogation

What I think is funny is the subtext:

Saddam really isn't neccessarily stupid, after all he did take over Iraq, a very divided land. I think he gambled that the U.S. would not come after him in this war, which probably was a smart bet at the time.

I actually felt a little bad, somewhere in my heart, when I saw that Saddam was captured. I think we are kindred spirits. :(
