I wouldn't start down that route, it's alright to poke fun at other countries, so long as none of them are the good ole U.S. of A. but paradoxically, defending the Right against unfair and dismissive criticism is off-limits too - the site has a bit of a split-personality problem....just a word of warning.

I assume all countries have politcal(?) nobodies who will make outrageous statements about a major authority figures whislt engraciating themselves with others to get themselves noticed. Therefore, this was an attempt at political satire. I thought perhaps if I got flamed someone might point out this parallel. Maybe I was looking for too much? Anyway, SC isn't just about making people laugh is it?

I guess it works on that level, up until the bit where the "major authorty figure" refers to himself as "a self-obsessed gay" cos Bush says stuff like that about himself all the time doesen't he?

It doesn't work. What did you expect from this comic anyway? Polite clapping? It's not funny nor is it clever. Now if it was just a straight out pisstake on Brad for being the owner of the site but not coming up with the goods comic-wise then that could have been funny if done in the right way.

I s'pose expected what I got.. a reaction. The whole strip is self defacing anyway. The ignorance of the character, the fact that i dont even know that brad has no comics, and the ignorance of the writer by endowing him with qualiities* that are blatantly untrue, as the modern media are prone to doing.

I just thought a straight pisstake on brad's lack of comics was too easy and so yes maybe i tried to be too clever and killed what may have been funny. But this is partly why I put the strip up in here in the first place. (hence the thread name)
