- Killing off Wash was a soft touch. OK, he was the comedy relief, easy victim. He was however a microcosm of his Firefly character, which I would like to have seen developed (i.e. how does a bloke like that pull a woman like Zoe? ) Shame.
- Shepherd was underused, but he was a microcosm of his character on Firefly. But still, shame to kill him off.
- Kaylee just seemed to be there to provide love interest for Simon. She was a better character when she was fixing stuff as well as acting all cute and luverly; in the film she did very little. I'd have liked to have seen more of her, and not just in a sexy way.
- Jane was a much better character on the big screen, where larger than life translates better.
- River as Lara Croft, Chun Li and Jean Grey all in one? Cheers, Whedon, not impressed. However her portrayal of a schizophrenic was pretty accurate/chilling, one of the better points. Stole a lot of the show.
- I would have liked to see where Whedon went with character development had he been given another couple of series. It didn't seem possible with what he had in the original series. It would have taken more subsidiary charcters (which I'm sure he would have written in)
- From the film, "The Operative" put in a great performance. I'd have liked to have seen him chasing the Serenity for a few seasons on TV.
As I said in the other thread, this was a great sci-fi flick. Shame we won't get to see what Whedon had planned, but, given what he set out with the first 13 episodes, I can see why it was cancelled.
