look ppl, I admire ppl that help and make characters for the comics and stuff.. I think they deserve to be grated somehow.. but I think would be better to split the images, the character according to their type..like...robots..clowns..men..women..that way we won't go looking in all the folders searching for a pirate...(an example).. well that's my opinion..do with that w/e u want..

Yeah, it's a good thought, and Brad has thought about it. The main problem with it is that it would be really hard to change the existing system. The way comics are stored on the server actually has the image URLs hardcoded into it, so moving them to different directories would fuck it up completely. To fix it, Brad would have to do a find and replace of _all_ the image URLs in _all_ the comics in the archive. That's a couple hundred images and getting on toward half a million comics.

Brad wrote the current system back when there were only a few thousand comics and a fraction of the current characters and backgrounds. At that time most art was kindly donated by friends of his with webcomics, so out of respect for them he classified the art according to its source (Diesel Sweeties, Goats, When I Grow Up, etc).

Then... well, I did some art. I did a handful at a time, submitting new characters in trickles. Since all the other art was from existing comics, Brad put my stuff in a "dexx" category, classifying them by source and style rather than character type.

Anyway, it's a good idea, and you're right - it would be easier, especially for new users. Trouble is, it would now be a bitch to change. Maybe Brad will think of an easy way to do it, but don't hold your breath.

It's separated like that so all the artwork is consolidated into groups of like styles. Kaddar's stuff is different from DexX's, and both are different from Squidrabies and Injokester's stuff. If you really want a faster way to find images, give Brad some money so you get donor priveleges and have access to the character browser.

I actually prefer the current system, but I guess that could be down to familiarity. I just like sometimes how if you want to stick to a particular style, all the characters from one artist are in the same place, Kaddar's art for example, or the new art from squidrabies or injokester. After a while on the site, it almost becomes second knowledge, and most strippers on here could instictively whip up a perverted bunny, dogonaball strip without breaking a sweat.

I dont think HCRoyall meant any offense, he was simply pointing out that Brad has created a rather excellent character browser for Donors which can be a good aid for strippers to get to know the artwork.

Besides, when Brad re-organised the backgrounds I almost lost the will to live, its taken months of therapy and doctors bills to get over that.
